What is an Application Pack?
Available directly from your web hosting control panel, an Application Pack is a convenient and automated way to install/publish a web based application to your website. Application Packs are not the actual programs, but rather a customized automated installer feature that will assist you in installing it on your website.
Where are the Application Packs?
Login to your Control Panel and click on domains, click a hosted domain, and then select Application Packs. Installation instructions are provided on-screen.
What does (BETA) mean?
Application packs marked as "BETA" mean that we have not fully tested the application pack. It does not mean that the application itself doesn't work. There may be unknown issues with the install routine we use to copy, configure and install the files on your site. At some point, we will update the application pack with a new version and it will no longer be a BETA.
Are these applications supported?
Due to the close tie between the application pack and the actual application, support is limited to ensuring that the application pack installs the necessary files to your site, and sets up the appropriate database. We do not offer support on completing the final "configuration" steps of an installation, or using a particular application. Please see the vendor's website for more information. Applications packs marked as "BETA" are not supported in any way, please use at your own risk.
Where can I find more information regarding an application before or after I install it?
Please visit the vendor's website for more information. Links to each vendor can be found in your control panel.
What does the required parameter mean?
Every application has certain requirements to be installed e.g. PHP / MySQL. Please be sure your website plan includes these features (most do), that you have adequate resources available and that you have ENABLED those resources. To ENABLE these features see our online Knowledge Base.
What happens when a new version is released?
When new versions of these programs are released, we will do our best to make an updated application pack available. Likewise, when an application comes out of BETA a new application pack may be updated. In either case, if you have already installed your application and it is functioning, it is NOT required that you update.
How do I uninstall an Application Pack?
To uninstall an application pack, visit your control panel, and choose Remove for that Application Pack. Note, the actual database will be deleted but the files themselves won't. Please remove these files via the File Manager in your Control Panel or by FTP.
