Dual Core Dedicated Server San Diego
Dual core processors are better suited for servers of a singular purpose. Performing at higher speeds than the quad cores but processing fewer streams of information concurrently. Quad Core processors would be better suited for servers that are in high demand or running multiple applications or multiple instances of applications. As a general guideline, customers who are emerging from a shared hosting environment with low to medium traffic requirements should consider using a dual-core server.
Suggested Uses
These dual-core servers have a wide variety of uses which makes them a popular choice with our customers. For Example: Standard Web Server, MS SQL 2005 Database Server, VOIP Server e.g. Asterisk / Trixbox, Application Servers, Event Gateways (SMS), Terminal Servers
Unmanaged or Managed Dedicated Server
The only time we really recommend getting an unmanaged server is when you are running an pre-configured application server e.g. Asterisk or you are an experienced system administrator. Otherwise, the $2.49 a day you pay for managed services is well worth it when compared to the time and energy you would spend trying to self-manage.
