Internet/Telephone Order Accounts
Non Face-to-Face Transactions
There are two parts to the process of accepting credit cards online. First, you will need a Merchant Account and second you will need to choose the Method/Product by which the credit card transactions will be send across the Internet securely.
1st
A Merchant Account is simply the approval to accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and/or Diners. It is not a bank account. We will deposit your transactions in your local checking account daily.
To get a Merchant Account complete the Online Application and we will contact you via telephone to finalize the arrangements. If you like the price and service- we will complete the application and get your service activated. Unless you have a bankruptcy, foreclosure or repossession in the last three years you will be approved.
We do not require (as most other processors do) site photos, tax returns, business or personal financial, term contracts or to open a checking account with us (certain exceptions apply).
2nd
You will need to choose the Method/Product by which the credit card transactions will be send across the Internet securely. There are several options. AuthorizeNet (our favorite) for example will allow customers to come to your web site and pay in real time, live over the internet. You do not need a secure server. Which is one of the benefits AuthorizeNet has over some of the other services.
Basically (other ways are available) it works like this- your shopping cart or order form will total the order and take the customers address and shipping information then they will click a button and be sent to a secure form where they will enter their credit card or check information. They will click another button and their transaction will be processed, approved or declined (5 seconds or less). Next, they will be emailed a receipt while they are automatically being transfered to your home page for further shopping. Now, on the back end, your funds will be sent to your local checking account automatically. You will of course have an online Administration Menu so that you can view, void, refund or edit these transactions.
