Creating Web Hosting Plans for your Customers

To start selling web hosting you'll first need to create some web hosting plans to offer to your customers. Additionally, you need to create a web hosting plan to assign yourself for your own company website. In effect, you will be your own first customer.

Step 1: Create the Plan

  1. Log into the EPHost control panel (http://cp.ephost.com)
  2. Click the "Hosting Plans" icon
  3. Click the "Add New" button
  4. Give the plan a name, we recommend using your hosting company's name
  5. Add appropriate fees.
  6. Click the "Save" button

Step 2: Edit the Plan

  1. Click on the plan you just created to edit it.
  2. Check the "Available to purchase" box. If this plan is for you, you should uncheck this box.
  3. Click the "Save" button

Step 3: Edit the Resources

  1. Click the "Resource Limits" icon.
  2. Update the Domains, Bandwidth, Diskspace, and Domain Aliases limits.
  3. 999999999 is basically unlimited
  4. Click the "Save" button.
  5. Click the "Web Resources" icon to enable and edit web.
  6. Be sure the "Enable Web Resource" box is checked.
  7. Edit the limits of each web site resource.
  8. Click the "Save" button.
  9. Click the "Back" button.

Repeat the above steps for each of the other types of resources: Email, FTP, DNS, Statistics, and Database

Step 4: Add Subscribers

Your first customer (subscriber) will be yourself.

  1. Click the "Back" button
  2. Click the "Subscribers" icon
  3. Click the "Add New" button
  4. Fill in your personal information
  5. Click the "Save" button to create the account
  6. Click the user you just created
  7. Be sure to change the "Account Status" to "Active" and click "Save" if you've previously enabled account vetting
  8. Click the "Billing" icon
  9. If this customer is actually you, then change the "Customer Discount" to 100% So you won't charge yourself accidentially.
  10. Click the "Save" button

Done! You can now add domains, database, etc for your hosting company.
