How to add a POP3 email account in MS Outlook 2003

To add an email account in Microsoft Outlook 2003:

  1. Select Tools from the main menu.
  2. Select Email Accounts.
  3. Select Add a New Email Account >> Next
  4. Check POP3 >> Next
  5. Enter your email settings. See: Email Settings.
  6. Click on More Settings.
  7. Choose the Outgoing tab.
  8. Check My Outgoing server (SMTP) requires Authentication and Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

If using SSL:

  1. Select the advanced tab and under "Incoming server" check "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)."
  2. Change the "Outgoing server" port to 465.
  3. Under "Outgoing server" select SSL as the encrypted connection type.
  4. Click Ok >> Next >> Finish
