TOMORROW Important Update: New Data Center Floor Space Move (Final Reminder)
Posted by Tegan King on 21 September 2018 09:16 AM

We are excited to announce that we have provisioned new data center floor space within our existing facility. The added room and upgraded infrastructure will be a big benefit for all customers.

Type of Work: We are officially announcing that on September 22nd from 10:00pm - 3:00am we will move all physical servers to the new space. The move is being made in one shot for the least disruption & downtime to the network.

Service Impact: This will be a seamless move requiring no special changes on your part. However there will be some unavoidable downtime while the servers are re-racked. Servers will be incrementally restored and are not expected to be down during the entire maintenance window.

Location: LWDC, San Diego, CA 92123
Window Start: 9/22/2018 - 10:00pm PST
Window End: 9/23/2018 - 3:00am PST

Purpose: We're growing! The new floor space positions us to be one hop from the DC Cloud and Storage Network and will remove one hop for almost all customers (faster). It will include additional 52U racks (more space), 208V power (more power), the availability of 2N power (simultaneous A & B side power circuits), continued availability of N+1 power (failover power), Hot Standby Routing Protocol (HSRP) implementation and performance routed bandwidth using Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).

Frequently Asked Questions:

1) When?

On Saturday September 22nd from 10:00pm - 3:00am we will move of all customers which will involve several hours of intermittent downtime. No special changes or considerations will be required of customers.

2) Web Site Traffic?

During the migration window all traffic will be NULL routed, but will come back online incrementally as servers are restored.

3) Email Service?

Email will be the first thing moved and we only expect 45 minutes or less of email downtime. No loss of email is expected as the sending mail server will reattempt delivery within 90 minutes.

4) Postponement?

We regret that we are unable to re-schedule this migration as several 3rd party engineers have been scheduled to work on this move. Please contact us if you have a concern about not being available during the migration windows. For most customers no action is needed on your part.

5) IP Address Change?

Your IP address will not change.

6) Who will you be notified?

Periodical updates will be sent via email or posted on social media advising you of the status.

We are very excited to be able to offer this new level of service you you. If you have any questions please send an email to support@ephost.com
