Shared Server Disruption

On Sunday January 10th at 11:00pm PST during our regular maintenance updates two shared hosting servers crashed. A perfect storm of sorts. We recovered the servers manually and restored all websites as quickly as possible.

All restorations have been completed. However, about five former RECE CMS / WebJuris customers, who have not yet converted to WordPress, were unable to be restored as the RECE CMS system was no longer compatible with the restored servers. Our Web Design and Development team has made available deeply discounted conversion pricing to migrate to WordPress as quickly as possible.

One of the consequences of the restoration was that FTP accounts were cleared. If you require FTP access you will need to create an FTP account in your control panel. As always, the FTP host name would be your domain name.

In the last 15+ years of web hosting we have not lost a shared hosting server- much less two. While this was not an enterprise wide outage, and no data loss occurred, it did have an impact for us and our clients. We are taking all steps to prevent such issues in the future. Shared Hosting is great when all is working well but not always ideal for mission critical websites. On behalf of all of us at EPhost we appreciate your business. We apologize for the inconvenience. We encourage affected customers to apply for a Service Level Agreement credit by opening a support ticket entitled "SLA Credit".
