EPhost Service Modernization & Pricing Update – Effective January 1, 2026

Last Updated: January 2025
Applies To: Shared Hosting, VPS Hosting, Microsoft 365 Services, SmarterMail, and Legacy Prepaid Accounts

Overview

Beginning January 1, 2026, EPhost is implementing a series of important updates to our hosting platform, pricing structure, and support model. These changes reflect our ongoing transformation from a legacy hosting provider into a modern Managed Service Provider (MSP) with enhanced focus on security, backups, monitoring, cloud infrastructure, and proactive web support.

These updates allow us to continue delivering the reliable, secure, and professional-level hosting and web operations support our customers rely on.

This article explains the upcoming changes, why we are making them, and what customers can expect going forward.

4. Why We Are Making These Changes

The requirements for secure, modern hosting and email administration have changed dramatically in recent years. EPhost has long delivered MSP-level services — backups, monitoring, security, update cycles, troubleshooting, and cloud management — while still charging legacy, commodity hosting rates.

To remain stable, competitive, and able to support our customers effectively, these changes are necessary. They allow us to:

  • Continue providing high-quality service

  • Invest in modern cloud infrastructure

  • Improve security and reliability

  • Prepare for our 2026 datacenter exit

  • Deliver proactive web care and support

  • Offer a more professional MSP experience

5. How This Affects Prepaid Customers

Your prepaid hosting term (annual, biennial, triennial) remains fully honored.

Beginning January 1, 2026:

  • A $19/mo Platform & Support Fee will be applied per hosting environment.

Prepayment provided a discount at the time of purchase, not a locked future rate — and these updates align your plan with our new service model.

7. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is my hosting price changing?

Because EPhost is transitioning from legacy hosting to a modern MSP model with built-in security, compliance, monitoring, backups, and basic web care. These services cost far more to provide than legacy hosting rates covered.

Your prepaid hosting term is honored, but the Platform & Support Fee covers modern infrastructure and security requirements that were not part of legacy plans. Prepayment provides a discount at the time of purchase, not a future locked rate.
