Hosting Domains as Portals in a Single Web Service with Email Aliases

With Frankland Hosting, you can host multiple domains or web sites within one DotNetNuke application, saving you administration time and disk space fees. This can be accomplished in two ways, with domain aliases, or with a static IP address.

By using a domain aliases, you avoid the cost of a static IP address. However, domain aliases automatically create email aliases for all mailboxes in your hosted domain. In other words, mailbox@domainalias.com would automatically forward to mailbox@hosteddomain.com, and the user-name of the mailbox would be mailbox@hosteddomain.com.

If you wish independent mailboxes for your DotNetNuke portals, you'll need to follow the instruction in Hosting Domains as Portals in a Single Web Service with Independent Email Service.

  • Log into your existing DotNetNuke installation with a superuser (host) account
  • Click Portals on the Host menu
  • Click the Add New Portal link
  • Specify Portal Setup fields
