Transferring your domain name to EPhost Print

How to transfer a domain to EPhost:

First, some distinctions should be made between "transferring a domain" and "pointing a domain."

Pointing your domain to EPhost:

You are telling your existing domain name registrar* (e.g. GoDaddy, 1and1.com, eNom, etc...) where your website is hosted (EPhost). Technically speaking this is called changing your Name Server records.

Transferring a domain:

You want to change the provider of your domain name registration. By transferring your domain to EPhost, we now become your domain name registration provider and you will renew your domain through us. Many customers do this to make management of their domain name registration easier.

Domain Name Transfers have a fee associated with the domain, usually $14.95 (maybe more depending on domain name). It will add an additional year to your existing domain expiration date upon successful transfer to EPhost.com.

  1. Log into Account
  2. In the center of the page a box that says "Register a New Domain", enter the domain name to transfer and click on the 'Transfer' button
  3. A new page will open showing the domain name to be transferred to EPhost and a box to enter the "Epp code / Auth code" provided by your previous hosting company.
  4. Type in EPP code and click 'Add to Cart'
  5. on the Left under "Actions" or at the top of the page click 'View Cart'
  6. If you have a Promo Code, use it here, otherwise click on the green "Checkout" button
  7. Complete Order by supplying your payment information and agreeing to the "Terms of Service"
  8. Click on the Blue "Complete Order" Button

Domain name registrations can take up to 5-10 days to be transferred. Some domain extension such as .org, need special attention. Please email support@ephost.com if this is the case.

NOTE: your domain name will not begin to transfer until you have paid the fee for transferring your domain. If your account is set to auto-bill every month, then that night your credit card will be charged. If you would like to take care of this faster or to pay the current balance manually from your Control Panel please visit: Home Menu >> Billing >> Make Payment. If you need to add a credit card first, select Manage Credit Cards then Make Payment.
